* very complex environment
* very hard to troubleshoot
* very easy to mess-up
* installing internal hardware is quite risky*
* no easy way to attach external devices**
* can't easily upgrade just the processor

* risky: machine can stop working
** "Universal Serial Bus" was supposed to help, but we're still waiting!
