The Struggle of 010911 -- Introduction

Since September 11, 2001 I, like many others, have worked to understand what led to this war, what the risks are, and how best to manage the present and future risks. A page written in Sept/Oct/Nov 2001 has been divided into 3 parts:

The attackers[17] hate many things, but one their great hatreds is secular humanism and liberalism. They would be infuriated that we fight them by first seeking to understand them.
